The NBA Panel covered the the Delaware 87ers as they took on the Brooklyn Nets Developmental League affiliate the Long Island Nets at the Bob Carpenter Center on March 24th. The sevens won another high scoring game against the Long Island Nets 125-113 led by Russ Smith’s game high 37 points. Russ was aggressive from the start and never let.
As the game started there we 3 early lead changes, but after the 87ers took the lead after the end of the 1st quarter they never looked back. The scoring load was balanced as usual, with Aaron Harrison scoring 16, Carlos Lopez 16, Devondrick Walker 13, Nate Robinson 11, and Shane Edwards with 11 points. Carlos Lopez once again showed he’s a vital piece to the team by coming in and giving instant offense and energy. Nate Robinson showed his usual scrappy defense and instant offense to help pace the 87ers. As the game went on the sevens defensive presence grew just as the lead throughout the game. This type of team play will soon help the sevens clinch a playoff birth. The win puts the sevens at 25-21 on the season.
