The NBA Panel covered the Delaware 87ers as they took on the Toronto Raptors NBA D League team affiliate the Raptors 905 at the Bob Carpenter Center on March 31st. The Sevens lost a must win game 123-103 which ended any chance of them making the playoffs this season. The game had two lead changes early on, but after the first quarter the outcome of the game was never in question.
The 87ers were led in scoring by Nate Robinson’s 28 points, who fought all game to keep the Sevens close but it wasn’t enough. Devondrick Walker added 19 points and Shane Edwards 17 to help ease the scoring load. Russ Smith scored a quiet 5 points which didn’t help the Sevens cause. Russ’s offense was greatly missed throughout. The Raptors thoroughly controlled the game and matched any run the 87ers could put together. The loss drops the Sevens record to 26-23 on the year.
