The NBA Panel covered the Cathedral Classic at The Palestra.
Day 1 of the Classic got underway with the LaSalle Explorers vs Hofstra Pride. Hofstra held off LaSalle to come away with the 63-58 win. The Pride was led in scoring by Cruz Davis who finished with 22 PTS. The Explorers led by 13 PTS from Jerome Brewer fought hard overcoming early turnovers to keep the game close.
Game 2 of Day 1 of the Cathedral Classic featured the University of Pennsylvania vs Merrimack Warriors. Penn used a strong second half to defeat the Warriors 77-65. Penn’s leading scorer was Dalton Scantlebury finishing with 22 PTS. Merrimack was led in scoring by Kevair Kennedy’s 18 PTS.
Day 2 of the Cathedral Classic began with game 1 featuring Hofstra University Pride vs Merrimack Warriors. Hofstra prevailed in a convincing 78-58 win led by Preston Edmond who put up 22 PTS. With consistent shooting throughout the game Hofstra was in control from opening tip. The Warriors were led in scoring by Tye Dorsey, and Ernest Shelton with both finishing with 12 PTS.
Game 2 matched the University of Pennsylvania vs LaSalle Explorers. In what was the most exciting game of the weekend thus far Penn stormed back to defeat LaSalle 73-71. Penn was led by TJ Power’s 29 PTS, and as a team finished the contest with 50% shooting.
Day 3 of the Cathedral Classic began with La Salle Explorers vs Merrimack Warriors. In a game highlighted by multiple lead changes Merrimack came away with the 66-60 win over La Salle. The Warriors were led in scoring by Ernest Shelton’s 17 PTS. La Salle was led in scoring by Josiah Harris who finished with 16 PTS.
Game 2 of Day 3 put the University of Pennsylvania against Hofstra University Pride. In the final contest of the day led by Cruz Davis’s 18 PTS Hofstra came away 77-60 with a victory over Penn. Penn fought the entire game being led by Ethan Roberts who finished With 16 PTS. The Cathedral Classic was a complete success giving those in attendance a great experience.
