The NBA Panel covered the NCAA D1 Saint Joseph’s Hawks as they took on the Old Dominion Monarchs at Hagan Arena November 9th in Philadelphia PA. The Hawks began their season with a home opening win in front of a raucous crowd. Saint Joseph’s played with the chemistry of a team that seemed to not be playing its first game of the season. The Hawks took a close lead of 3 at the half, and pulled away in the 2nd with their signature defense. Saint Joseph’s was led by Charlie Brown who put up 20 PTS, to help the Hawks keep a comfortable distance in the 79-64 win. Old Dominion was led in scoring by 22 PTS from Ahmad Caver in the losing effort. Saint Joseph’s Head Coach Phil Martelli was impressed by his teams performance, but knows it’s a long season ahead. The Hawks will definitely be making noise this upcoming season.
