The NBA Panel covered the Temple Owls as they opened their season against La Salle university on November 6th at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia PA. The Temple Owls opened their 2018-2019 NCAA D1 basketball season with a home win over La Salle university. The Owls started slow which was to be expected since it was the first game action of the season. Temple gradually got it going and never looked back as they cruised to a 75-67 home win. The home crowd was into the game from the very tip, and the Liacouras Center showed what home court advantage can do. The Owls were led by Quinton Rose’s 15 PTS as he was aggressive all game. Nate Pierre-Louis added 14 PTS to help keep La Salle at a comfortable distance, added with Temple’s defense that ramped up in the 2nd half to keep La Salle’s offense scrambling. La Salle was led by Isiah Deas who put up 23 PTS in the losing effort. This was a 1 game sample size, but this Owls team showed glimpses of how good it can be in the upcoming season.
